This piece was generated through the tracing of the raw, empty gallery space of Spanien19c using different sizes and types of paper, in combination with my body and gestures. Repeating the act of tracing the perimeter of the room, I employed varied material approaches to reveal both the physical identity of the space and its acoustic qualities in dialogue with the distinct character of each paper. Through this process, the work effectively “draws” the space acoustically, producing a composition that is unique to this site.
